Letting the blue flag fly

On Tuesday evening, ‘donkeys” and their friends gathered together to welcome the new year.

Campbell University Democrats hosted their annual Kick-Off Cookout in the courtyard of Barker Hall.

CU Democrats President and Vice President Deagan Williams and Stephanie Laird, respectively, planned the event to welcome new members and to reconnect with previous participants over pulled pork and hush puppies.

“We have a lot to do,” Williams said. “Just because it isn’t an election year, doesn’t mean there isn’t work to be done.”

Williams and his staff hope to work with initiatives in accordance with the North Carolina College Democrats and NC College Democrats President and Campbell junior Louis Duke.

The CU Democrats also welcomed Harnett County Democrat members to join in on the evening of relaxation and politics,

The first general meeting for the College Democrats will be held on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. in Room 116 of D. Rich.
