Students see construction site from inside

Posted by Prof. Smith On November - 9 - 2012

Communication studies major Jillian Martin strikes a pose inside the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine building, a multi-million project that will be the state-of-the-art when finished, according to project superintendent Dale McCoy. Martin and other communication studies studies toured the building and interviewed McCoy and others as part of a class on Convergent Media. A similar class will be taught in the spring, Communication 222, Story Telling. In Martin’s class and the Communication 222 class, students learn to shoot video and tell stories online, sometimes providing the narration in what is called a voice-over. The best work is featured on, the student newspaper web site, which won an award in competition against other online news sites in competition with universities in North Carolina.
